Action Required: Update OpenAI macOS Apps Before May 8

Following a recent security precaution communicated by OpenAI, the following macOS applications must be updated as soon as possible, and no later than May 8, 2026:

  • ChatGPT Desktop: 1.2026.051 or later

  • Codex App: 26.406.40811 or later

  • Codex CLI: 0.119.0 or later

  • Atlas: 1.2026.84.2 or later

For managed devices, ensure these updates are deployed via your device management tools.

This is a precautionary measure. No password or API key changes are required.

    The apps that are available in App Catalog will be updated as soon as possible when you have configured the client to check in regularly, preferable once every day.
